Dalane Bluesfestival is a three-day music festival in Egersund town centre, held since 2003 by a non-profit association.

What the festival is

The name promises blues, and blues is the base. On top come rock, soul and americana: Status Quo and Joss Stone at the anniversary in 2023, DumDum Boys and Honningbarna the year after, Lissie and Bjørn Berge in 2025. The programme has always ranged widely.

What sets it apart from other blues festivals is the town. The stages have included an old bicycle workshop, the hotel cellar at Grand, a warehouse by the lifeboat and Torget. All within walking distance. You walk from concert to concert through Egersund town centre, and the evening has often ended with a jam after midnight.

The festival has made room for the youngest too: an ensemble seminar for young people from Eigersund, Bjerkreim, Sokndal and Lund, and dedicated morning concerts for the nurseries.

    The first Dalane Bluesfestival, in May.

    The association Dalane Blues Festival is founded on 10 June as a non-profit organisation.

    Rockescenen joins, with changing venues and musical concepts.

    20th anniversary with Status Quo and Joss Stone.

  5. 2024

    DumDum Boys and Honningbarna. “Talking Blues”: artist conversations in a live podcast format.
